In 1980 she was nominatedfor a Tony Award for her leading role in the Broadway musical "Barnum"and four years later she won the Tony playing opposite Jeremy Irons in TomStoppard's "The Real Thing." She won her second Tony for MikeNichols' production of "Death and the Maiden," and most recentlyachieved critical and public acclaim, the Tony, the Los Angeles Drama CriticsCircle Award and the Drama-Logue Award for her performance as Norma Desmondin "Sunset Boulevard."
